A swelling clay whose adsorption happens while the mask sits on skin, so whatever it does is done when it is removed. It also pulls water, which is why long or frequent use dries and irritates — that harm accrues over repeated use rather than on first application, and is the only time-dependent effect anyone has described. No trial reports timing for a durable acne or pore change, and the detox framing has no measured outcome behind it at all.
