The whole timing case is a single 2002 paper from the peptide's developers, whose clinical content is one sentence: an oil-in-water emulsion containing 10% of the hexapeptide, applied to healthy women volunteers, reduced wrinkle depth up to 30% after 30 days. The published account states no sample size, names no vehicle or placebo arm, and reports one assessment at day 30, and the paper's actual subject is the SNARE mechanism rather than a dermatology endpoint. An uncontrolled developer study measured once cannot date an onset. This base already grades the evidence emerging and notes the studies are small and industry sponsored, which points the same way. The exposure is also unfixed: the paper says 10% of the hexapeptide, while consumer products declare a percentage of a dilute trade solution, so the applied peptide level in a marketed serum is not comparable and may be orders of magnitude lower. What is missing specifically is any vehicle-controlled trial of acetyl hexapeptide-8 with interim visits.
